Determination of PFAS in Water according to EU 2020_2184 and DIN EN 17892 using online-SPE-LC-MS_MS

In the work presented here, the PFAS listed in EN 17892, including the substance list in EU Drinking Water Directive (EU 2020/2184), were determined by an automated method based on solid phase extraction with weak anion exchange sorbent combined with LC-MS/MS. Recovery rates, blank values, and limits of quantification (LOO) were determined following the requirements of the EN 17892 method. The method accuracy was demonstrated based on analysis of spiked water samples from different sources. LOQs in drinking water were below 0.5 ng/L for the vast majority of compounds.

Online SPE system with replaceable SPE cartridges: The best of all worlds

GERSTEL SPEXOS expands your sample preparation portfolio with online SPE. Compared with sandard SPE, SPEXOS relies on much smaller cartridges with only 50 mg of sorbent, enabling a significant miniaturization of the entire process: Much smaller sample amounts are needed to reach required detection limits and much less solvent is needed for analyte elution reducing cost, simplifying logistics, and increasing method sensitivity.
